Announcing the launch of Empirical Research.

29 Apr 2016

Empirical research is research using empirical evidence. It is a way of gaining knowledge by means of direct and indirect observation or experience.

Research has been a key part of Jepson Holt and its business since 2005. Using the information we held to create competitive advantage was a key part of our early strategy.

Over the last few years as our practice branched out from executive search into merger and acquisition and strategic projects for firms the team spent more time researching businesses and places in addition to people.

The team, consisting of 3 Directors – Head of Research Tom Habens and Senior Research Consultants Joe Fisher and Tim Lloyd, have been integral to the continued development of the research business. With the addition of behavioural profiling and due diligence products, this brought us to the point where we needed to create Empirical Research as a separate business.

We now provide bespoke market intelligence products to a wide variety of clients, both legal sector and beyond, allowing our clients to be fully informed regarding competition, strengths/weaknesses within existing markets, the opportunity potential of new markets (both geographic and sectoral) and many further pertinent areas of concern when looking to grow a business.

Unlike the other parts of our business our research products are relevant to any business in any sector but particularly to professional services businesses.

Phil Jepson says:

“Having good information is key for reducing the risk attached to big decisions. All businesses have to make big decisions on people, places and other businesses and we want to help them do so in the best way possible.”
