And the small business of the year award goes to…..

12 Mar 2013

We were delighted to be a part of the Manchester Legal Awards recently and were honoured to present the ‘Small Business of the Year Award’ at the annual ceremony.

More than 500 people attended the event, which was held at the Midland Hotel with Fran Eccles-Bech, executive director of MLS, describing it as a great celebration of Manchester’s Legal profession showcasing the individual and collective talent that we have in our city.

The Small Business of the Year award went to Stockport based Abney Garsden who were delighted with the result with principle Peter Garsden describing it as a pinnacle of his professional career.

Speaking after the event, Peter Garsden said: We have been recognised both personally and as an organisation for the work we do. For a small firm to triumph over such large firms is a testament to all that is good about small business. It is a tribute, particularly to our loyal and hardworking staff, many of whom have been with us for many years.”

At Jepson Holt, we’ve seen first hand how larger firms have faced challenges over the past few years due to excess capacity and infrastructure commitments. This has enabled smaller firms to grow and thrive in a market, which in the past, has been notoriously dominated by the bigger firms: Abney Garsden is a fine example of this.

Sponsoring the Small Legal Firm of the Year category at The Manchester Legal Awards has simply given us a platform to highlight some of the success stories of the past year with Abney Garsden leading the way.

The question is, who will be next?
